Professor Xuezhong Zhou

Professor Zhou serves as Director of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Director of the Intelligent Medicine Research Institute. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Zhejiang University and conducted postdoctoral research at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. His long-term research focuses on interdisciplinary studies in artificial intelligence for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), real-world clinical data mining, and network medicine.

He holds multiple academic leadership roles, including President of the Health Big Data Branch of the China Association for Traditional Chinese Medicine Information, Vice President of its Artificial Intelligence Branch, and Vice President of the Clinical Efficacy Evaluation Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.

He has led over 20 major research projects, including National Key R&D Program projects, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) grants, and Beijing Natural Science Foundation key projects. His research has yielded more than 200 publications in journals such as Nature Communications, Science Advances, and Science Bulletin (including over 100 SCI-indexed papers), with Google Scholar citations exceeding 8,300 times. He was named an Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researcher in Traditional Chinese Medicine (2022, 2023).
